I love lists. I love making lists. Reading lists. Checking things OFF of lists. A list-o-holic, if you will.
Well, Scary Mommy recently posted her best posts of 2010. The listmaker in me says, “Yeah… that!” And so here I am.
2010. What a crazy year it’s been with two kids. Exhausting but magical. Frustrating but sweet. Ups and downs but mostly ups… well except for the lack of sleep. That always sucks.
So I’ve rounded up my favorite posts of the year for one final look.
January: My One Word for 2010
My word was nurture and although I could have done better, I sure did lots of nurturing this year. In fact, I’m still breastfeeding (10 months), still teaching aerobics and a few other things I set out to do. I’m not doing some other things but feeling good at what I’ve “nurtured” this year.
February: And Then He was Three (and an Update)
This post was ready to go but then I went into labor and had Little Roo on Big Roo’s birthday. No, I don’t know what I’m going to do about birthday parties yet. But I have two months to figure it out.
A story about Little Roo’s birth, which I had hoped to be a VBAC. As I was looking back, I got all sad that no one commented on Part I. I actually could have sworn I had comments but I see a big fat zero. Okay, not bitter. My blog wasn’t very old back then.
Sweet Little Roo goes on his first hike at 7 weeks, after the chaos of trying to get out the door to actually GO on a hike.
My party days are over. I look forward to just going to Target alone.
My 100th post. Chock full of stuff.
July: Week in the Life Project
I’m insane. I documented an entire week in our lives – from Monday to the weekend – through pictures and words. I didn’t do this for the blog; I did it to put into a scrapbook so my grandkids can see what their dads were like when they were kids. I plan to torture myself with fervent picture-taking and documenting once a year.
August: Momcomm Monday begins with How to Improve Your Writing (Without Improving Your Writing)
After months of thinking about it, I took the plunge and started my Momcomm Monday series. It’s definitely the most popular thing about my blog and I still have much more to share.
Another fave for the month was Making Sense of Twitter for all you Twitterphobes.
A post about the good in people or about cranky-but-cute babies. You take your pick.
October: Big Roo’s Modern Outdoorsy Kids Room
How can you go wrong with a room of Dwell Studio, etsy and handpainted trees on the wall?
November: What about the Boys?
A ponderous post about raising gentlemen.
December: Rudolph Made Me Cry
What happens when you’re a sentimental person around the holidays.
Thanks to all of you for reading my blog. I’ve been at it for 14 months and can’t believe how much I just love doing this. I appreciate all your comments, all your words of support and all the times your comments make me laugh.
Can’t wait for 2011!
