Okay, so I’ve been a mom for three years now. But not to Big Roo.
To him, I’ve been “Mama.” And occasionally “Mommy.”
But as of a few days ago, I’m simply MOM.
“What are you doing, Mom?”
“I want Mom to do it.”
“What’s that for, Mom?”
Those words sound like they come from an eight year old’s mouth, not the mouth of my still-a-preschooler three year old.
He sounds so darn grown up when he says it. I think it’s adorable… but I’m not ready to be a mom just yet.
Moms shuffle their kids around from one after-school activity to another. Moms sign permission slips for out-of-state field trips. Moms send their kids to sleepovers.
I’m still a MAMA. I kiss boo boos. I pour drinks in sippy cups. I sing along to the Imagination Movers.
I want to be a mama for as long as I can.
