Last week, I “met” a fellow blogger through Twitter who runs the blog Go Explore Nature. She posted this great list of 10 Holiday Gifts for Little Nature Explorers. One that’s mentioned is a digital camera and I couldn’t agree more!
Big Roo can’t keep his hands off my digital SLR when I break it out. Even though he’s two, he’s learned to look through the viewfinder, hold the grips and CLICK! It doesn’t matter that he cuts off heads or takes unsavory close-ups of my face, he loves it.
So I decided to share some camera love and buy him his very own camera for Christmas.
I’ve read some reviews about a few others (Fisher-Price, Crayola, others) but the Vtech Kidizoom Plus seems to be the one that most people liked (based on reviews from multiple sites). Do you remember the other day when we almost lost pink bear Burt at Toys R Us? That’s when I – ahem, Mrs. Claus- grabbed the last one off the shelf at $20 off!
Here’s what it looks like. It retails for $69.99.
So Big Roo won’t actually get this until Christmas Day so I can’t officially review it YET, but I can say that I’m ecstatic he’ll have a little camera of his own. One that can tumble down the stairs, be dropped out in the woods and taken on our adventures.
I’ll post a review and some Big Roo shots after Christmas!
